Students may pick up breakfast from the breakfast cart between 8:30 a.m. – 8:50 a.m.
Any student who arrives at 8:50 a.m. or later, is considered tardy and needs to be signed in by an adult at the Montessori main office. The Annie Fisher campus has one entrance; please enter the building using the campus main entrance facing Plainfield Street under the awning.
Students who arrive after 11:45 a.m. are considered absent for the day.
Two Hour Delayed Opening
For security reasons, when there is a 2 hour delay in the school day, students should not arrive to school before 10:30 a.m. Upon arrival, students must go directly to their classrooms. The school day will begin at 10:40 a.m.
Arrivals
PROCEDURES for drop-off at the start of the school day at 8:30 - 8:40 a.m.:
Car arrivals enter the Annie Fisher campus at the west entrance (by the cafeteria) to access the driveway loop. Cars come around the back of the school to drop off at the Montessori east entrance adjacent to the train tracks. Parents remain in their cars as Montessori staff guides children from the car into the building between 8:30 and 8:40 a.m. Families arriving after 8:40 a.m. are asked to park their cars and walk around to the main entrance on Plainfield Street. Students arriving after 8:45 a.m. must be signed in at the office.
Dismissal
PROCEDURES for pick-up at the end of the school day at 3:40 p.m. (until 3:50 p.m.):
All car dismissals will occur at the Montessori east entrance adjacent to the train tracks. Parents remain in their vehicles and students are escorted to their car by staff. If students are unable to buckle themselves, parents must buckle them into their seats.
All PK3 mid-day dismissal will occur from the same door as drop off (east entrance near train tracks). Staff escorts students to their cars and parents buckle children into their seats. Dismissal time for PK3: 11:40 a.m. (until 11:50 a.m.). Any child who is not picked up by 11:50 a.m. will need to be picked up from the Montessori main office. Families arriving after 11:50 a.m. are asked to park their cars and walk around to the campus main entrance on Plainfield Street.
Early Pick-Up
We believe students belong in school for the entire instructional school day. We ask that all appointments be scheduled outside of the school day. If your child must leave early from school, we ask that you do the following:
1. The Main Office must receive written parental/guardian notification with the date and time of the appointment the morning of the dismissal. (Please email: Email Erin O'Meara [Erin O'Meara, Executive Assistant], Email Maggie Dones [Maggie Dones, Operations Manager], Email Selene Roberts [Selene Roberts, School & Family Support Provider], and the child’s guide to let everyone know of any dismissal or attendance changes.)
2. The parent/guardian must sign the student out in the Montessori Main Office.
As we continue to examine and evaluate our procedures and in an interest of maintaining a safe environment for everyone at Annie Fisher Montessori we are implementing the following:
If you will be traveling anywhere in the building as a visitor during the school day we require that you sign in with security at the front desk and get a visitor’s badge. Always check in at the Montessori main office after checking in with security in the main lobby.
In the morning from 8:30 a.m. - 8:40 a.m., parents should not escort their children to their classrooms. Montessori students will walk to their classrooms. Staff is available to assist with anything they may need as they walk to class. If you arrive late (after 8:50 a.m.), please sign in your child. Student’s grades 1-8 will grab a late pass and go directly to their classrooms. Exception: If your child is late and is between the ages of 3-6, (Grades PK-K) they will need to be escorted to their classroom.
