The Hartford Prekindergarten Magnet School provides a social learning environment that nurtures and supports young children’s natural ability to learn, experiment and explore through active engagement in structured play, inquiry-based instruction, interactive discussions around play and literature and the mapping of vocabulary.

This school extends the boundaries of learning through the thoughtful and intentional development and planning of a language, literacy, mathematics and science curriculum. Children participate in an instructional program that develops communications skills through the exploration of concepts using art, music, drama, science and mathematics, supported by interactive experiences with children’s literature.
Children will leave Hartford Pre-Kindergarten Magnet School prepared to succeed in kindergarten and beyond, due to an integrated curriculum that addresses all of the areas known to be foundational for success in school.

Did you know?
Children are instructed in language rich environment via the STREAM (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) curriculum, which is aligned to the CT Early Learning Development Standards.
Each classroom is lead by a Certified Teacher and Teacher Assistant, and incorporate best practices for promotion Literacy, Math, and Science, into daily instruction to support the integration of educational, cognitive, psychological, and social development.
We celebrate our partnerships with Hartford Performs, Hispanic Health Council, Hartford Public Library, and UCONN Nutrition, to provide students with inspirational experiences that advance student learning.
