The involvement of parents is central to the educational model we are building here in Hartford. The Adult Education Center is one example of how we are working to support that goal. Even adults who do not have children in the school system have a role to play, because we see the entire community as our partner in building a stronger future.
We believe that the adults in a child’s life need to be engaged with that girl or boy’s education. The Adult Education Center provides information that supports this type of involvement. From health information, life skills and parenting education, and even guidance on pursuing a college degree (for parent, child, or both!), we are working to create opportunities that benefit every learner of every age.
