Sport & Medical Sciences Academy Black History Month Celebration Focuses on African Americans and Labor

Black History Month Celebration at SMSA, was focused on the theme of African Americans and labor, and on various and profound ways that that work and working of all kinds-free and unfree, skilled and unskilled, vocational and voluntarily-intersects with the collective experience of Black people, and the very center of Black History and Culture. SMSA Staff invited guest speakers who volunteered their time to talk about the upbringing and the importance of education that can turn into career excellence with grit, perseverance, hard work and a vision for success. The speakers asked students to find the excellence within themselves and pour into their education, work experiences and future, to empower them to see themselves as the next generation that has the ability to make a positive impact in the world! Presentations included original student poems, a student dance, guest speakers Jeff Ambroise and Leonard Epps introduced, Kim Bridges dance crew, and ended with the SMSA cheerleaders!
