Hartford Public High School

During culture week at HPHS, Spanish teacher, Paola Rosa Media and her students celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month.  Students were encouraged to participate in a gallery walk, choosing materials related to the Dominican Republic from a designated table. After material selection, students participated in group discussions to share their findings and deepen their understanding of Dominican culture and history. Finally, they shared the Mask-Making Activity, Students actively participated in creating 'mascaras de carnaval' with designs that reflected the colors and symbols associated with their respective flags. Ms. Medina used a Dominican Traditional Dress.

Dr. Torres-Rodriguez was so humbled and honored by the video, she made a visit to Wish to meet Mikaella and thank her in person!
