On January 11th State Representative Henry Genga came to Bulkeley High School!  He gave a presentation on his life and the different steps that led him to become a state representative, from a member of a PTA, a town counsel, running for mayor and then a state representative. He talked about how important it is to be involved with the community and for students to develop their leadership skills. Meeting with the state representative was an amazing opportunity. The audience was a 9th grade Civics class, the student council from the south campus, three student council members from the north campus, two members of the Hartford Youth Advisory Board, a representative from the BHS website management team, and staff members of the Public Service Pathway. It ended with a lively question and answer session. Overall, they had an interactive meeting that was very informative to the audience. After the presentation Bulkeley High School student council members met as a united body in the same building for the first time! Thank you very much to State Representative Henry Genga for coming!
