On April 4, 2024, the President of Livingstone College, Dr. Anthony J. Davis, visited the Greater Hartford area where he recruited new students and offered admissions on-the spot to students from Hartford Public High School and Weaver High School, as well as scholarships for college-bound seniors to attend one of the oldest Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) in North Carolina. They spoke with juniors and seniors interested in pursuing a higher education. Seniors with GPAs of 2.5 or better were eligible to qualify for scholarships.
Livingstone College has a rich history of academic excellence and community engagement, and was excited to share these wonderful opportunities with students in the Hartford area.
The visiting administration from Livingstone College met with and reviewed transcripts of current Hartford Public High School seniors and made the following official scholarship offers:
The following four HPHS students, based upon their merits, were offered full-ride Presidential Scholarships:

The following HPHS Seniors were awarded partial tuition scholars:

Mulunda (Ernest) Ngoyi, $5,000 Honors Scholarship per year
Karma Strother $3000 Freshman Incentive Grant
