We are also thankful to all of the families, staff, and community members who joined us for our in-person Community Budget Forum on February 24th. We were joined by many great organizations including Organized Parents Make a Difference (OPMAD), Center for Latino Progress, Blue Hills Civic Association (BHCA), Camp Courant, YWCA and the Colectivo de Defensa de Hartford (Hartford Deportation Defense,) among others. Dr. Torres-Rodriguez and CFO Caitlin Richard provided updates on the budget process for the 2025-2026 School Year. There was an opportunity for a Q&A and budget input from the HPS community. Attendees also filled out questionnaires that will be shared with the Board of Education and inform decision-making on the draft FY26 budget.
