Congratulations to the students and staff from Sport and Medical Sciences Academy who supported the 12th Annual Roberto and Vera Clemente Life Commemoration Event! Naomi Pantaleon, Davian Figueroa, and Elvis Fabian played instrumental roles in organizing this year's event for their Capstone project, and more than two dozen other SMSA students showed their support by volunteering. The team from SMSA was led by Alex Mercado, a teacher and co-chairman of the event committee. Students from SMSA participate in this event each year to honor the life and legacy of baseball star Roberto Clemente and his wife Vera, who were known for their activism and humanitarian work. As part of the event, students also participate in a community service contest to show their dedication to making a positive impact. We are so proud of all of the students for being such great role models and representatives of Hartford Public Schools!
A special thank you to our incredible partner Jeffrey Dressler for providing our students with scholarships for their hard work!
