CT Cup

Connecticut Cup for Middle Schools hosted by Stay Plugged In & Stay+ and was a 4-week long, after-school Esports & STEM competition on Mondays and Tuesdays with a $1000 prize pool from November 4th-December 10th. 

On Mondays, students learned about STEM Content Creation skills including graphic design with Canva and video editing with CapCut, while also talking to virtual guest speakers from a variety of different fields including the NBA, Hartford Film Company, Houston Outlaws, UCONN, Quinnipiac, Syracuse, and University of Hartford.


On Tuesdays, students competed in Rocket League and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate against other involved schools. 


At the conclusion of the Connecticut Cup, prizing was awarded to individuals for their work in the STEM portion and all schools were awarded for their involvement in the esports competition. 

Breakthrough South students who were awarded prizes based on their work include Amir, Giovanni A, Saniya, and Isaiah T!
