Good morning GPA families,
We hope everyone is having a wonderful and relaxing summer vacation, and before we know it, the first day of school will be here. Please mark your calendars for our first day back on Tuesday, August 29th, 2023. We are looking forward to welcoming all of our students back to school for an exciting new school year. This week we have over 65 new students with us working through our summer bridge orientation and program. Our teachers and GPA ambassadors led our students through a week of ice breaker activities and orientation and students received GPA and Manchester campus tours and spent time getting to know the school and staff. Over the coming weeks, we will be sending home important school communication regarding student schedules, transportation, back to school events, and other announcements.
We have a new website that we launched this summer. Please bookmark for updates and information:

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call us at the main office at 860-512-3700. Continue to enjoy summer!
Respectfully,
Dr. Jessica Fitzgerald
Principal
Great Path Academy at MCC

Dear GPA Families and Incoming Students,
We are looking forward to getting to know you and your child this year at our Summer Bridge program. The program will run from Monday, July 31st to Friday, August 4th from 8:00am-12:00pm each day. During the week, students will be immersed in activities that introduce them to GPA’s middle college culture including the student experience and high school academics program. They will have a wonderful opportunity to make connections with classmates, upperclassmen mentors and ambassadors, and teachers, so they feel well prepared to begin GPA on the first day of school, Tuesday, August 29th, 2023.
On Friday, August 4th, we will participate in several team-building activities at Riverfront Recapture, located in Hartford, and we will end the fun week with an outdoor picnic lunch at Riverside Park. Parents are highly encouraged to attend this day at Riverside Park. Students and parents will need to complete waivers for this event and we will be reviewing that information during the week of summer bridge.
A few important notes for the program:
Breakfast and lunch will be provided each day for students.
Students are required to wear their GPA uniform. If your uniform has not arrived yet, please plan to wear black or khaki pants and a blue/white polo shirt.
Students will participate in pre-testing to help us determine the freshmen schedules. Full freshmen schedules will be mailed home prior to the first day of school.
Please check your emails for transportation details. If you have any questions, you can call the main office at 860-512-3700.
During summer bridge, your child will be given a school spirit shirt and also a GPA backpack filled with school supplies courtesy of GPA. At the beginning of the school year, your child’s teachers will provide school supply lists and materials that may be needed for your child during the year for their course. A reminder that CT Tax Free week is the week of August 20th to the 26th to take advantage of tax-free shopping.
Our goal at Great Path Academy is to get your child off to the best start possible. We strongly encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity. The research shows that students who participate in Summer Bridge programs have a better adjustment period to high school and a more successful freshman year. If you have any questions, you can call the school at 860-512-3700.
