We are so excited to welcome your child back to school in just a few weeks! To ensure a smooth transition for our youngest learners and our students entering middle school and high school, we will be implementing a special transition day.
Students entering Kindergarten, Grade 6 and Grade 9 will begin the school year one day earlier, with a half-day on Monday, August 26 (NOTE: Renzulli 4th Graders and Betances STEM 5th Graders will participate in Transition Day). The Transition Day will allow students to experience and learn about their new school environments without other students present. All other students will begin on Tuesday, August 27.
On this transition day, students can expect to:
Take a tour of the building, including the cafeteria, gym, bathrooms, and classrooms
Participate in team building activities with their new classmates
Review school-wide expectations
Meet with their teachers and other staff
If your student receives bus transportation, their bus will pick them up and drop them off on the transition day. The transition day will follow the early release bell schedule. You can find your school’s bell schedule here.
