The Hartford Public Schools District ACE Team invites all students in grades PreK-12 to participate in our 4th Annual Attendance Visual and Video Challenge. Submissions are due on Friday, October 11, 2024.
Video requirements:
• Videos can be submitted as an individual or group project and/or submitted as a class video
• Videos must be no longer than two minutes in length
• Videos must feature the importance of school attendance and what makes us want to come to school every day
• Include the slogan from last year’s winner “Attendance is the key to being a CHAMPION at HPS!”
• Be student’s own original work

Visual requirements:
• Posters, Comics, Ads, etc. can be submitted as an individual or group project and/or class poster and must be no larger than 11 by 17
• Visuals must feature the importance of school attendance and what makes us want to come to school every day
• Include the 23-24 slogan from last year’s winners “Attendance is the key to being a CHAMPION at HPS!”
• Be student’s own original work and can be in color and/or black and white

The following information must be included with the video and/or visual:
• Student’s name, school, grade level, and homeroom teacher
Submission details: Entries must be submitted by end-of-day on Friday, October 11, 2024.
School-based teams (administrator, ILT, student council, etc.) will select their top visual and video. Names of the top winners and video/visual MUST be sent to the HPS ACE Team no later than Friday, October 11th, 2024.

Winner selection and prizes:
District ACE team members will collect all school-based winners for submission to a Google
form. Voting will take place from October 15th to the 18th. The District ACE team will notify the
winners in the last week of October 2024 and award the prizes to all winners at the November
Board of Education meeting on November 19, 2024. All participating students will receive a certificate of recognition for their involvement and plaque.
Winners will be selected through open voting to all Hartford Public Schools students, staff, families, and community through Google voting.
Three Winners will be selected in each category from Elementary, Middle and High School for a total of 18 winners.
Winners will receive the following:
○ Honored at the November Board of Education Meeting
○ Video and/or Visual utilized for 25-26 school year District ACE Attendance Campaign
○ Plaque and additional prizes to be awarded at the BOE meeting
● Each school-based winner will also receive a trophy and certificate honoring their accomplishment
● Their video or visual will be made into a postcard to be sent home to their winning school categories.
