Capital Preparatory Magnet School - The Road to College begins at Capital Prep

Hello everyone! Please come to the Parent Workshop next Wednesday, September 30th at 5:00 pm in the music room. We will be going over technology things like Google Classroom, ParentSquare, Class Dojo, the school website and how to update the settings on any devices for your students for screen time limits and bedtime! Please see the attached flyer for all of the information. Pizza will be served and this workshop will be offered both in person and on Zoom! Welcome Back, Capital Prep Scholars & Families!

Dear Capital Prep Families,

Tomorrow is the day! Tuesday, August 25 marks the first day of the 2026-2027 school year, and we are SO excited to welcome our scholars back to Capital Prep!

Thank you to all of the families who joined us today for our Family Meet & Greet. Seeing so many returning scholars and meeting our new students truly energized me for the year ahead. We are ready!

A Few Important Reminders

First Two Days — Early Release
Tuesday, August 25, and Wednesday, August 26, are half days with an 11:00 a.m. dismissal.

Uniforms Matter
Scholars should arrive in complete Capital Prep uniform each day. Our uniform helps establish the pride, professionalism, and sense of belonging we expect from every scholar.

No Cell Phones or Outside Technology
No students should bring or use personal technology during the school day. This includes cell phones, iPads, tablets, Apple Watches and other smartwatches, gaming systems, earbuds/AirPods, and similar devices. Instructional technology will be provided by the school when needed.

Attendance Matters
Every day and every minute count! Please make getting to school on time, every day, a priority. Consistent attendance is essential to student success.

Most importantly, let’s start strong! We are ready to learn, build relationships, establish routines, and make this an extraordinary year at Capital Prep.

8th grade families - please have your student bring their blazer to school tomorrow if they have not already done so. I will be putting them in alphabetical order and hanging them up for the ceremony Wednesday morning. We still have a couple of open things for donations for the after party in the Sheff Center. You can access it through ParentSquare along with RSVPing for the event. Please help me spread the word to the other 8th grade parents! Thanks so much!
